Safer London is seeking an experienced Mental Health and Well-being practitioner to help us to improve the safety of violence affected young people in London.
LGE is a bespoke pan London service funded by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime(MOPAC), for young people, both those who are involved in and/or those impacted by violence. LGE has a focus on those aged 16-25 and our aim is to achieve positive and sustained change for young people through advocacy, specialist support and practical tools.
The mental health & emotional well-being worker is a pivotal part of the service offer and will be responsible for the assessment and direct work with children and young people with mental health and well-being needs. They will also lead on the development and delivery of therapeutic one to one and group interventions to support Safer London service users, as well as offering consultancy support to members of the LGE team.
We are looking for a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist who are registered with a governing body such as UKCP or BACP with full accreditation.
You will have experience in a therapeutic capacity, particularly in relation children and young people affected by violence. The person will also be responsible for effectively engaging with health stakeholders, communities and partners pan London.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a clear understanding of risk management, safeguarding and evidence a willingness to work within ethical boundaries but in unusual settings.
