Administrative Assistant
Part time, 14.8 hours per week (2 days per week)

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is Britain’s only true coastal national park, a place where rugged cliffs give way to sandy beaches and wooded valleys lead up to wild inland hills - understandably, planning plays a key part in our responsibility for this special place.

A positon has arisen for a part time Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for a full range of administrative duties within the Development Management Administrative Team and provide administrative support to the department.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide flexible assistance in all areas of the department, including the enforcement section and have knowledge of all administrative duties in order to provide cover for periods of illness or leave as required.
• Registration of Planning applications, recording on our database and ensuring that the consultation and acknowledgement procedure is correctly followed.
• Carry out searches on properties and assisting in the preparation of appeals.
• Maintain all appropriate computer and paper records and filing systems and facilitate access to all staff and members of the public.
• Respond to routine enquiries from staff and the general public and deal with visitors in reception and telephone enquiries in a friendly and confident manner.
• Carry out all duties to a high standard, promptly and accurately.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• English and Maths to GCSE level or above.
• Competent IT user; able to use Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
• Office admin experience and high personal standards of accuracy and reliability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a good degree of initiative.
• Able to work well in team situations and adapt to differing demands and pressures.
• The ability to work through the medium of Welsh, the successful candidate will be required to work to level B2 (Advanced Level).

Salary and Benefits:

Basic salary up to £19,171 (pro-rata), minimum 23 days holiday (pro-rata), rising to 28 days (pro-rata), plus public holidays (pro-rata), local government pension scheme, flexible working arrangements, career development opportunities.

The position will be based at our HQ in Pembroke Dock; the office is an 8 minute walk from the nearest train station, we have secure cycle parking facilities and ample car parking. We also operate a pool car scheme for site visits.
